The 10-step Google Business Profile setup
- Claim or create your profile at business.google.com using the business’s own Google account.
- Use your real business name only. Do not stuff keywords into the name; it can get the listing suspended.
- Pick the right primary category (for example, “Cafe” or “Beauty salon”), then add a few secondary ones.
- Add exact address, map pin, phone and website. Make sure they match your website and Instagram exactly.
- Set accurate opening hours, including special hours for festivals and holidays.
- Write a clear description of what you offer, who it is for and what makes you different, in plain language.
- Upload at least 10 good photos: exterior, interior, menu or products, team and your best-selling items.
- Add products, services or your menu with prices where possible.
- Post an update every week: offers, new items, events. Treat it like a mini Instagram.
- Reply to every review, good or bad, within a day or two. Thank people by name and stay calm with complaints.
How to get more Google reviews (the honest way)
Ask happy customers directly at the bill, add a QR code to your table or counter, and send the review link on WhatsApp after an order. Never buy reviews or offer discounts in exchange for 5 stars; it breaks Google’s rules and customers can tell.
